PVC, halogen-bearing flame-retardant compounds and some acetal formulations release acidic products at melt temperature, and they reach the cavity face, the vents and the parting line.
The cooling side attacks separately, from the water: untreated circuits in a mold that stands between programmes pit and scale from the inside, and blocked cooling shows up as warped parts long before anyone opens the mold to look. Where either condition applies, the grade is 1.2316, at 15.5 to 17.5 % chromium with 1.00 to 1.30 % molybdenum behind it.
